They suggest that it's most likely because of the recession... but I remain hopeful that it's because of the recent rise of craft-brewing culture in America... perhaps 'murica is finally realizing that beer doesn't have to (and really shouldn't) taste like watered down horse-piss ;P
So lets hear it for our friends at Wolf Hills Brewing, Highland Brewing Company, Asheville Brewing, and all of the other local heroes that are fighting the good fight... to make sure that we have great beer.
We have a new barrel in the tasting room, but we aren't using this one for beer. We are collecting food for the Holidays From the Heart Food Drive. This worthwhile program provides food for the needy in our community. So bring your spare cans from the pantry or pick up a few extra things the next time you are at the store. Although most of us are blessed with plenty, the holidays can be a particularly difficult time for some -- Spread some joy by helping a neighbor in need. Cheers! bbbb.
We have another big week in store for you. Among others, it is our pleasure to host Americana legend, Charlie Parr, on Thursday December 12. In addition to his many solo records, Charlie has recorded with the likes of Trampled By Turtles and Black Twig Pickers. Jan Benschomp on Wednesday, My New Favorites on Friday and Ron Short on Saturday. We will release a brand new Belgian Quad, details soon. [And if you can keep a secret, there might be real heat in the brewery by this week. Stay tuned.]

So when the band quits after 7, we are going to try something we have been thinking about for awhile: The iPod Battle. Bring up your music playing device and we will plug it in for one song only. Crowd will choose the winner based on mob mentality criteria and you'll get like adulation or something as a reward. Or maybe a shirt. Unless we forget, which we probably will.
