Iliad with Loose Leaves
June 8 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Iliad – Founded by members of This Mountain, Annabelle’s Curse, and Mind Modes, Iliad made their existence known in late 2017. At the end of 2017, they recorded and released their first single “Shakey House”. From there, the band has opened for acts such as Parker Gispert, Illiterate Light, and Universal Sigh. They have also performed at festivals including BandCamp in Bristol, TN, and The Howling in Abingdon, VA with positive reception from audiences and artists alike. Iliad has been labeled by listeners as post-rock, jazz, indie and singer-songwriter as well as being coined as ‘epic’ and ‘triumphant’. The band’s debut full length album, LANDZ is available everywhere now!
Loose Leaves -Loose Leaves strive to be honest and transparent with their audience and listenership. They don’t want to be too self-serious. “We take our music and our business very seriously, we don’t take ourselves very seriously at all.” A great deal of effort is put into making live shows, above all else, fun, with a sense of communion between artist and audience, encouraging the crowd to get up and actively participate in the good times.
When performing, Loose Leaves hope to express a sense of freedom. Freedom from worry and judgment, freedom from fear of looking silly. They bring that same uplifting spirit to the record, while incorporating enough depth to allow for a more contemplative listen.
The band plays regularly all over the greater East Tennessee, SW Virginia, and Western North Carolina region. Loose Leaves have performed at The 2018 Rhythm and Roots Reunion Festival in Bristol, TN/VA in addition to Johnson City’s 2018 Little Chicago Music and Arts Festival and are frequently featured on WBCM the Birthplace of Country Music Radio Bristol.
