Emily Stewart & Momma Molasses

October 5 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Emily Stewart plays original tunes rooted in the folk, country, and blues traditions of the deep south. Currently based in Greensboro, NC and originally from a small town in Alabama, Emily’s music weaves vivid homegrown storytelling with her genuinely nuanced voice. Harkening back to a time when songs where sang on front porches, Emily’s songs are immediately accessible, and leave the listener feeling as if they had happened on some warm slow sultry afternoon, full of wisdom, and wonder. Recently Emily has gained a large fallowing in the Greensboro area, and plays frequently through out the triangle.

Originally from Carthage, North Carolina, Momma Molasses’ music is truly “Americana”, influenced by a broad rage of sounds; Folk, Alt-Country, Piedmont Blues, Soul, Bluegrass, Swing, and Old-Time which blend into a uniquely timeless sound. Harnessing her rolling contralto voice which scales over homespun finger-picked guitar, her sound is warm, rich, and passionate, with songs that embrace, and captivate listeners, soothing well warn hearts with vunerable lyricism. Currently touring through out the South East, Momma Molasses has gained recognition in multiple communities, and recently released a debut album “Anthems From A Broken heart”
